Meet Scott Grieco
Syracuse, New York, U.S.
Dr. Scott Grieco has over 30 years of experience in the evaluation, design and optimization of water treatment systems across the public utility, remediation and industrial sectors. For the past ten years, Scott has focused on the evaluation and treatment of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS.)
As our Global Principal for PFAS & Emerging Contaminants, Dr. Grieco is an expert in physical/chemical treatment of emerging contaminants and persistent environmental compounds.
Scott is a lifelong Upstate New Yorker 鈥 he completed his undergraduate work in Chemical Engineering at State University of New York at Buffalo (UB), his master鈥檚 in Environmental Engineering at Syracuse University (SU), and his PhD in Bioprocess Engineering at State University College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF).
Scott spent 18 years in the water treatment consulting industry before having the unique opportunity to return and complete his PhD, which was focused on advanced treatment of an emerging contaminant. After re-entering the industry, Scott became connected with 网曝吃瓜黑料一区二区三区 personnel through a PFAS-focused work group. He joined 网曝吃瓜黑料一区二区三区 just as PFAS was becoming more of a focus in the water industry鈥 and the rest is history!

What is your favourite part of your role?
I鈥檓 not sure I can name just one part. I would say my top three are:
- Being the face of 网曝吃瓜黑料一区二区三区 and technical leadership at conferences and symposiums
- Providing input and direction to project teams
- Teaching and mentoring younger staff
What do you enjoy most about being part of #Our网曝吃瓜黑料一区二区三区?
I鈥檓 actively engaged with project and sales teams across multiple regions, time zones, and countries. Our connectivity is awesome. But even moreso, every interaction and engagement is genuine. Every person or team I work with for the first time is welcoming and feels like I鈥檝e known them forever.
网曝吃瓜黑料一区二区三区 also does a great job of investing in technology and promoting a culture to allow this to happen.
What advice would you give to young professionals?
Find areas you are passionate about. But recognize that as your career grows, your interests may as well. I鈥檝e done laboratory work, detail design, project management, people/division management, pure sales, technical sales, and each chapter has allowed me to be the engineer I am today.
Search out mentors and be actively looking for opportunities to network and grow your technical and people skills.
If you aren鈥檛 working, what are we most likely to find you doing?
Cycling or golfing鈥r maybe just doing nothing. I鈥檓 often good at that too!
